Radon
Radon is an
invisible, radioactive gas that can seep into a home through sump pumps, cracks
in the foundation, or other access points. At unhealthy levels, radon is a carcinogen,
so homebuyers in areas with high concentrations typically have a radon test
done.
If high levels of radon are found, there are various remediation procedures
that can correct the problem. This work is typically done at the expense of
the seller and can cost anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.
